Absolute returns mean positive returns i.e. investing without loss. Some investment firms, such as ourselves, go further and identify the return objective against cash deposit returns because from an investor’s viewpoint this is the key comparison. Some managers attempt to deliver absolute returns using highly complex investment strategies, many of which are derivative based and opaque. We are different. We seek investments that are easy to understand and where real management skill removes risk and enhances returns. We major in private market investments, backing company investments in both debt and equity that offer exceptional returns without the volatility associated with public (mainstream) stock and bond markets.
