Africa Invest

Our investment plans

With our combined offering of the Africa Invest Fund and the Africa Invest Capital Protected Plan we aim to raise a minimum of £30 million. We will use these funds in Malawi for the following:

pay down establishment debts of £2.5 million – these funds were used to establish the business, acquire and develop farms and provide working capital
establish 20,000 hectares of new farmland, 50% of which will be irrigated
develop outgrower schemes to cover 100,000 families
establish three paprika processing plants, capable of handling over 6,000 tonnes per annum of raw input
provide adequate working capital
instigate Research & Development programmes for both aquaculture and livestock production.

If we do not raise the Fund targeted, we can easily scale down our investment plans and we do not believe this will affect returns to investors. Forecast returns from these plans exceed 80% per annum. However, we are uncomfortable with excessive returns, particularly given the backdrop of poverty and we will therefore accelerate poverty alleviation plans in the rural areas to see actual profits lie in the range of 30% - 40% per annum.
